In the beginning of this book I kind of thought the mommy macaw was a meanie. In a few more pages I understood the concept and had to smile and nod in agreement with Ma. It is so hard to see the kids grow up so fast! I thought the author did a good job arranging this book, and my little ones (two year old twins) liked the colorful illustrations and the rhyming words. I liked that the little bird made friends at the end of the story and was happy with her new school. This book would be a great icebreaker for little kids who are faced with having to go to school for the first time. We liked it enough to read it again.Product details

My son and I are just entering this stage of our lives. My little guy is having some attachment issues and as a Stay at Home Dad, I'm having a hard time working through that. After reading this book, I felt a tremendous sense of empathy with the characters. I'm not sure my son totally understands what's going on but we'll keep reading this book. I love the simple rhyming scheme and so does my little guy! I'd recommend this book for anyone who has a little one transitioning into Pre-School...you'll appreciate this book! I can't wait to read the other books written by Fitzherbert,
